The Hospitals.
There is a large number of sick and wounded soldiers now in our hospitals, and there must be rapid additions made from the army of the Peninsula, the more especially if there is a great battle there, as we may anticipate there will be in a few days. Everything should be done to promote the comfort and diminish the sufferings of these poor fellows, who have proved their manhood and patriotism by periling their lives for their country. In this matter the ladies can be of great assistance, and their kind offices and gentle ministrations will be welcomed by those who direct the hospitals. Ladies to take charge of the linen and supervise the preparation and supply of it are needed. – Those who desire to make themselves useful in this respect, should address Dr. St. G. Peachy.
