DEATH OF GORDON. - Brig.-Gen. J. B. Gordon, of N. C., wounded while harassing the Yankee cavalry on the Brook Turnpike last Thursday morning, died at the officers hospital in this city at 2 o'clock P. M., on Wednesday. His remains were carried to his native State last evening. Gen. Gordon's wound was not regarded as a dangerous one, but he sank from the shock superadded to great physical and mental exhaustion incurred during his pursuit of the Yankee cavalry from Spottsylvania C. H. to Richmond, and his fierce and repeated engagements with them between these two points.
