Ben Greet to Come in May.
Ben Greet and his players will give two performances in this city on Monday, May 11th, for the benefit of the Retreat for the Sick.
Through the kindness of Dr. Parker the plays will be presented at the old Van Lew house, on East Grace Street.
The plays chosen by Mr. Greet are “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” for the matinee and “Much Ado About Nothing” for the night performance. All familiar with the Van Lew yard, its terraces, box hedges and old trees will see how very fortunate the Retreat has been in getting such a perfect setting for Mr. Greet’s company.
The matinee will begin at 4 o’clock, this hour being especially chosen with reference to the school children. In case of rain arrangements will be made to have the performances under shelter.
