DROWNED IN THE CANAL
Colored Man, Supposed to Be Joseph Towne, in the Water.
A colored man, whose name is supposed to be Joseph Towne, while on his way to work early Friday morning, fell in the canal, near the gate of the Tredegar Iron Works, and was drowned.
Up to a late hour last night his body had not been recovered.
