A Counter-Movement in Virginia.
RICHMOND, November 29. – A meeting of colored Republicans has been held in the Capitol Park, at which a resolution was adopted declaring that in view of the efforts of the Conservatives to intimidate the colored voters, Hon. John Minor Botts, Governor Pierpoint, Franklin Stearns, and others be requested to call a State Convention of white Republicans to assist and direct the colored people in carrying the election for the ratification of the Constitution. The colored delegates from this city joined in the request. Addresses were made urging the necessity of having the aid of the white Republicans in the coming election.
