From the Alexandria Gazette, 12/8/1867, p. 2, c. 2
COL. ROSE who was recently tried at Richmond by a military commission on the charge of improper conduct on election day has arrived here for duty. The result of the trial has not been announced, but from the favorable character of the evidence introduced for the defense it is presumed that he will be acquitted. Col. Rose is a Captain in the 11th Infantry, a portion of which is stationed here. He is spoken of as a just and liberal man by those who know him personally. – Lynchburg News
