PAINFUL ACCIDENT. - Wm. S. Dawes, a white boy, aged fourteen, son of Samuel S. Dawes, formerly of Norfolk, was yesterday thrown from a horse at the corner of 10th and Marshall streets, his right leg broken below the knee and his head badly bruised. His foot hung in the stirrup, and he was dragged a considerable distance with his head hanging down. He was taken into the Baptist Institute Hospital, where his leg was set and his wounds dressed by Surgeon James B. Read.
