From the Richmond Examiner, 6/3/64
A NEW HOSPITAL, styled the "Stuart Hospital," by special order of the Medical Director, in memory of the lamented Stuart, was opened yesterday at the Old Fair Ground for the reception and care of the wounded now arriving and expected to arrive in Richmond from the battle fields below. – The hospital is improvised from the barracks of the City Battalion, and with very little alteration and some renovation, a neat, airy and commodious retreat for the sick and wounded has been secured. Surgeon S. Meredith is in charge, with Surgeon C. W. P. Brock as his assistant. The hospital accommodations are sufficient for five or six hundred patients.
