DR. M’CAW
After fifty-five years of active professional work, Dr. J. B. McCaw announces that he has retired from the practice of medicine. Well and truly has he earned the release he has taken, and we are glad to know that all his strength is not spent, but that he is in the enjoyment of reasonable health. Besides carrying the burdens and responsibilities of a large general practice, Dr. McCaw was for four years surgeon in charge of the largest military hospital here – that on Chimborazo Hill – and for some years he was a leading spirit in the Medical College of Virginia here. His active life has been in a high degree useful to the community, and we hope that his declining days may be full of ease and comfort.
