Napoleon Guns – Specimens of these celebrated guns are now being cast in this city. They are fashioned of brass, have a smaller bore and are a third larger than the ordinary six pounder. They are said to be most effective weapons. A number are now being made out of church bells and the old French cannon so long deposited at the Virginia Armory. The Napoleons are smooth-bored guns.
