Mayor’s Court Friday Feb’y 27 – John Webb was charged with assaulting Cumberland G. Cox with a pistol, and was required to give $200 security to indulge in no more such freaks for one year from date.
The case of John Moore, charge with assaulting Simon Jacobs at the Spotswood House with an iron railroad car-pin, was arraigned for examination, but the wounds received by Jacobs still precluding his attendance, it was continued. Jacobs nearly lost his life at the hands of Moore. He had his head beaten into a jelly yet, after all, the ruffian failed to get the money he was in search of.
