City Council. – A special meeting of the City Council was held yesterday afternoon at 4 o’clock.

…The following resolutions, offered respectively by Messrs Burr and Wynne, were agreed to:

Resolved, That a committee of three, of whom the President of the Council ??? be one, be appointed to remonstrate against the passage of the bill now before our Legislators, which proposes to give unlimited and uncontrolled use of the streets of the city to the railroad companies.

Resolved, That the representatives of this city in the Legislature be, and they are hereby, requested to oppose the bill now before that body, authorizing the connecting of the different railroads terminating in this city, so far as it gives the companies authority to make these connections without consulting the city authorities.
