City Jail. – At the last meeting of the Council, oon motion of Thomas H. Wynne, a resolution was adopted that the Committee on the City Hail take measures to cause the removal therefrom of all soldiers and other prisoners confined for offences against the Confederate States. A large number of Confederate States prisoners have been confined for some time in the jail, and it is charged that they produce all the rowdyism that makes that place so famous in local annals.
