Stuart Hospital,
November 9th, 1864
Maj. Parkhill Q. M.
Sir,
Sometime since I made a requisition for a chapel to be built at this Hospital which requisition was disapproved because of the scarcity of lumber. I have to state that the house originally built for a bed & chair factory near Winder Hospital and afterwards occupied by the guard by the guard as quarters and guard houses will furnish sufficient lumber for the erection of said Chapel and can be purchased of Mr. B. Green the owner, at moderate price. The building is being torn to pieces and consumed for fuel. I therefore request that you see to it and if possible make arrangements for the purchase for the purpose above indicated.
Very Respectfully, &c
R. A. Lewis
