THE SECOND CLASS MILITIA of Richmond have been for two weeks past engaged in the irksome and thankless duty of guarding the Yankee prisons and hospitals in place of the regular troops ordered to the field. The most of them are heads of families, and their business, of course, has been neglected for the time being, with a pecuniary loss to some of them. But it can be said, to their credit, that there has been no murmuring or dissatisfaction among them, but all have evinced a willingness to render the service required of them. We understand they are to be relieved in a few days, when they can return to their homes and business, and taste the enjoyment of a comfortable bed and full-rations again.
