From the Richmond Commercial Bulletin, 5/6/1865, p. 3, c. 2
THE HOTELS are in a very unsettled condition. The Ballard is up for sale at the round sum of $200,000. The Exchange is for lease. Mr. Corkery, of the Spotswood, has taken a Northern partner into the conduct of that House, as also has Mr. Scammell, of the Powhatan. The American, Columbian and Linwood, it will be remembered, were destroyed in the great conflagration.
