I have the honor of transmitting to you a Duplicate Statement of the Hospital Fund at Chimborazo from Octo. 11^th 1861 to Jany 1^st 1862 the original of which has been forwarded to the Surgeon General in compliance with the Army Regulations.

I am now prepared to exhibit vouchers in support of the various items of said Statement and for that reason, am thus particular in calling your attention to the account. I desire to relieve my self from any pecuniary responsibility that might possibly attach to me by deferring the examination to a distant day, when from the loss or misplacing of important papers, the correctness of the Statement might not so easily verified.
