Jack Ashore. – John Gorman was found on Saturday lying on the sidewalk, stupefied with liquor, and taken to the cage. He informed the Mayor that he had belonged to the sloop-of-war Brooklyn, and after being paid off in Norfolk, was robbed and turned adrift, after which he experienced a series of mishaps. - He had never been in a watch-house before, and if set at liberty, would set sail for Norfolk and re-enter Uncle Sam's service immediately. The Mayor let him off with some salutary advice.
