SENTRIES SHOT. – Within the past few nights two sentries – one on guard at the Libby prison and the other at the reservoir, near Hollywood cemetery – have been shot by persons unknown. The guard at the Libby was instantly killed; but, fortunately, the wound inflicted upon the one at the reservoir was in the leg and very serious in its character. It is not known whether the circumstances were the results of accidents or by design; but every effort will doubtless be made to ferret out the guilty parties.
