Robbery. – Two colored men, named Frederick Spencer and Wm. Robinson, were arrested last evening by Sergeant Whitlock of the police, charged with knocking down and robbing Anderson Scott of $23 in currency. They were brought before Police Justice White this morning, when the following facts were elicited: Anderson Scott was on his way home on Saturday evening, and when near Chimborazo hill he was met by Spencer and Robinson, who knocked him down, and, after beating him in a terrible manner, picked his pockets of $23, and then left him in an insensible condition. After a full hearing of the evidence, Justice White sent them on to be indicted by the grand jury at the September term, until which time they will remain in jail.
