WASHINGTON – Yesterday morning at five o’clock, of typhoid fever, at Mrs. Van Lew’s, GEORGE WASHINGTON, aged about sixty years.
His funeral took place from the Sixth Mt. Zion Baptist church (Duval street) at 2 ½ o’clock THIS AFTERNOON. Services by Rev. J. Jasper. His friends, white and colored, are invited to attend.
His fidelity and honesty honored the name he bore.
