Monitor Comes Home Again.
The old single-turreted monitor Montauk, purchased by the Tredegar Company, of this city, for scrap iron, arrived here yesterday, towed by the tugs Reliance and Alvah J. Clarke, of Norfolk, and was moored at the old Richmond and Danville dock. Frank Samuels, of Philadelphia, has the contract for dismantling and taking to pieces the old steel vessel. The Tredegar Company has purchased two other vessels of the old monitor flotilla, and they will be brought here later to share the fate of the Montauk.
