THE SPIKE MILLS TO BE REBUILT
No Time to Be Lost – Same With Shirt Factory – Covered by Insurance.

Already plans for the rebuilding of the Tredegar spike mills are being considered, and just as quickly as the insurance is adjusted, work on a new plant will begin. This will be within the next few days. All the insurance is carried by companies represented by Davenport and Company, and the loss is fully covered. The agents, in deference to the wishes of the Tredegar Company, are withholding the figures of the insurance.

The men thrown out of work by the fire will be looked out for by the company, and all of them will be back at their old places as soon as possible.

A force of men was engaged yesterday in clearing up the debris and putting the place in condition to begin work at once.

Fireman Sam Steinberg, of Company No. 4, and Fred Carlton, of Company No. 7, who were damaged to some extent while at work on the fire, are reported as getting along nicely.
