…Miss Elizabeth Van Lew, formerly postmaster of Richmond, was a complainant in the Police Court to-day against seven little boys who played ball in the street. When she went on the stand Lawyer Sam Page, counsel for the boys, proceeded to put her through a rigid cross-examination. Miss Van Lew became disgusted and got up and left the room saying she would not be made a laughing stock of. The case had to be continued and rule was issued for Miss Van Lew’s reappearance. When she is brought back the justice will probably fine her.
