From the Norfolk Post, 8/26/1865, p. 2, c. 5

In the State Penitentiary there are three prisoners awaiting trial by military commission, one of whom is Dick Turner, whilom warden of Libby. One Poole, a spy, is another. He deserted from a Confederate regiment, went to Washington, became a member of the Secret Service force of the War Department, was captured just before the evacuation of Richmond; confined in Castle Thunder, made a confession implicating other parties then here, escaped, was arrested, and is now again in durance. – In the cell adjoining Poole’s is a mysterious prisoner, who is known by no name, even by the jailers. Why or when he was arrested is a secret known only to the authorities at Washington and the parties who carried out the order of arrest.
