THE article about a “Loyal Union Spy Dying” is going the rounds of the Western and Northern press and no one is more amused over the newspaper canard than Miss Bettie Van Lew, of Richmond, Va., the “dying heroine,” who is still alive and in good enough health to enjoy the fake.
