LIBBY PRISON AGAIN SOLD.
RICHMOND, Va., Sept. 20. – The Libby Prison, which was purchased last February by W. H. Gray of Chicago for 23,300, was resold to-day by auction in default of the deferred payments. Gray sold out to a Chicago syndicate for $35,000, and these last purchasers failed to meet the deferred payments. Hence the sale to-day. The purchaser to-day was Dr. D. D. Bramble of Cincinnati. W. H. Gray is in the city, and it is understood that the purchase was made in his interest. Talking of the matter this evening, that gentleman said he had just received a telegram from Mr. Haines of Chicago, a member of the former syndicate, in which he said that a new and stronger syndicate for the purchase of Libby for museum purposes had been formed. The idea of the new purchasers seems to be to let the Libby building remain where it is now and throw it open as a public museum.
