THE COCK FIGHT. – The great cock fight between the game stock of Messrs. Duke & Gilmour, was brought to a conclusion yesterday, at the cock-pit in the yard of Omohundro’s jail, near Seabrook’s hospital, in the presence of several hundred lovers of the sport. Six battles were fought, Mr. Duke winning every one. The first fight was one of the most remarkable on record. It was between a Dusty Miller of Mr. Gilmour’s and a red cock known as Bill Bailey, belonging to Mr. Duke. It lasted over two hours. – For the first hour, the Dusty Miller, who was by four ounces the heavier, was the general favorite, but Billy out winded his bulky antagonist and killed him. This is the first instance where one man has been known to win every fight of a main. The company present were of the same select description as on the previous day, and every thing went off charmingly. Much money and apple brandy changed hands.
