The Riot Cases. – In Judge Meredith's Court, yesterday, the counsel for Dr. Thos. J. Palmer, indicted for encouraging a riot, entered a demurrer to the indictment, and moved that it be quashed. The Judge will render his decision on the motion this morning. Barbara Idle, indicted for rioting in the streets of Richmond, was tried and acquitted. The business before this court is much retarded by the absence of witnesses. The entire list of misdemeanor cases was called over yesterday, and only one tried, owing to this cause. Rules will be awarded against all who are not in attendance this morning.
