From the Richmond Examiner, 4/20/1866, p. 3, c. 3
THE MASTADON BONES, on exhibition at the feed store of Samuel Maccubbin & Co., have finally been pronounced the teeth of that animal. The immense size of the bones would seem to preclude the possibility of the fact, but eminent surgeons say they (the bones) are molars, and nothing less. We yield to their opinion, with a doubt in reservation.
