From the Richmond Examiner, Monday, 4/6/1863 , p. 1
THE CITY BATTALION. - It is understood that the City Battalion, raised and recruited in Richmond and employed by the Commandant of the Department of Henrico in guarding the prisons, &c., is to be removed from our midst. The battalion has recently become filled with a class of men who have entirely subverted the esprit du corps of the organization, and the further presence of the battalion here is regarded as inimical to good order in this community, and the cause of the Confederacy. - We sincerely hope that there is no reason why they should not be sent out to General Bragg. He can make good soldiers of them.
