Cage Items. – Officers Baptist and Adams arrested yesterday afternoon a negro woman, named Margaret Johnson, charged with stealing a lot of bedding and bedclothes and some crockery ware. Margaret claims to be free but could not produce the papers vouching for her assertion.
Ja***, and disorderly person was arrested by officer Granger, whereupon he made stout resistance, and for a time was in a fair way of coming off victor; but, through the assistance of other persons, he was eventually locked up on the lower station-house.
The above cases will be disposed of by the Recorder this morning.
