From the Richmond Dispatch, 8/29/1864, p.1, c. 6
Robbery. – On Saturday night last, the store of Francis B. Hart, on Cary street, near Thirteenth, was entered by thieves and robbed of about ten thousand dollars’ worth of coffee, sugar and wool. The store was entered from the front way, and it is supposed to have been done by false keys, as when it was first discovered by the watchmen yesterday morning, the door was standing wide open without there being any apparent forcing of the lock. – Traces of the coffee were observable from the store for some distance towards Mayo’s bridge.
