MISS VAN LEW’S ESTATE.
Personalty Valued at $400 – Furniture to Go to Boston.
The will of the late Miss Van Lew was admitted to probate in the Chancery Court yesterday. Mr. John Philip Reynolds, of Boston, qualified as executor.
The value of Miss Van Lew’s personal estate is fixed at between $400 and $500. It is represented solely by the antique furniture in her home, which is to be shipped to Boston and sold by auction. It is believed that good prices will be realized, as the people of the Hub displayed great interest in the affairs of Miss Van Lew on more than one occasion, and it is thought that good prices will be offered for the old furniture by people who will desire to keep the various pieces as relics.
The real estate of the Van Lews is all disposed of under the will of the late John Van Lew, father of Miss Van Lew. It is heavily charged, and it is not thought that more than the $10,000 will, by Mr. John Van Lew’s will, be realized over and above the mortgages.
