MISS VAN LEW’S FUNERAL.
Will to Be Read to Heirs – Estate Valued at $25,000.

The funeral of Miss Van Lew will occur at 4 o’clock this afternoon from her late residence, on Grace street. The ceremonies will be conducted by Rev. Mr. Goodwin, rector of St. John’s church, and the interment will be made in Shockoe Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. M. H. Omohundro, of Radford, and Miss Helen Van Lew, of Roanoke, nieces of the deceased, and Mr. Joseph Klapp Nicholls, of Boston, a nephew, arrived yesterday, and no other relatives are expected to be present at the funeral. The number of pall-bearers has been increased to ten. They will be as follows: Messrs. O. H. Russell, Franklin Stearns, James Blair, W. J. Davis, George Koss, Rufus Yarbrough, W. D. Hancock, H. M. Tyler, A. C. Becker, and Dr. Marcy.

The will of Miss Van Lew is to be read after the funeral, and will be probated on Saturday. The value of the estate is estimated at $25,000. The will was drawn by Mr. J. R. V. Daniel, and is in his custody.

Nothing is known of its provisions.

It is stated on good authority that the Van Lew property will in all probability be purchased by a Boston syndicate, for what purpose is not known.
