MISS ELIZA L. VAN LEW DEAD.
Niece of the Ex-Postmaster Passed Away Yesterday – Other Deaths.
Miss Eliza L. Van Lew, niece of Miss Elizabeth Van Lew, died at 2:30 o’clock yesterday afternoon at her home, the residence of her aunt, Twenty-third and Grace streets. Deceased had been sick about three months, and gradually lost strength, until yesterday afternoon, the end came quietly.
Miss Van Lew was a daughter of the late John N. Van Lew. She was born in Richmond, and this city was her home all her life. She leaves one sister, Mrs. John Hall, of Massachusetts. Deceased was a lady of the broadest humanity and sympathies. She was devoted to children, and they to her. Her young friends were many, and they will sadly miss her.
The funeral will take place at 4:30 o’clock to-morrow afternoon from the home.
