MAYOR’S COURT – MAYOR MAYO PRESIDING. - …John Candy, charged with assaulting Susan Mathews. Both of the parties were negroes, and residents of Chimborazo Hill, and one of them – the woman – testified that she was sitting in the ladies’ room” there when Candy commenced abusing her. The Mayor sent the parties to the county magistrates, as Chimborazo is out of the corporation.
