Held as a Hostage. – Dr. Wm. W. Myers, an Assistant Surgeon in the United States Navy, is now confined in the Libby prison as a hostage for Dr. James Green, a citizen of Danville, Va., seized by the Yankees and held at Fort Norfolk as a pledge for the safety of Dr. Wm. P. Rucker, now on trial in Botetourt for numerous offences against the laws of this state. Dr. Sanger, a Navy Surgeon, had been held by our Government up to within a few days as a hostage for Dr. Green, but getting in a very low state of health he was permitted to return home, and Dr. Myers was substituted in his place.
