Improvements - The western portion of the Capitol Square is still undergoing improvements at the hands of the state convicts. They are daily employed in cutting new walks and leveling the earth. A day or two since the water in the western fountain was turned on, and brought the coming summer vividly to the minds of the plodding citizens.
The weather yesterday was delightful, and the streets were filled with ladies. In the afternoon the Square was the centre of attraction for the fair sex; but as the City Battalion did not parade the promenade was not kept up very long.
