Exchange Hotel. – This well known establishment was sold yesterday at public vendue, by Messrs. Goddin & Apperson, to Mr. R. A. Lancaster, who purchased it for a company. The building and ground rent thereon sold for the sum of one hundred and thirty-seven thousand dollars, the hotel going for $101,000. The Exchange was erected about twenty years since by a company at a cost of $125,000, was first kept by the late Frederick Boyden, of the Astor House, New York, and since his time by John P. Ballard up to the day of sale. The latter has retired to the hotel opposite, known by his own name.
