From the Richmond Dispatch, 11/12/1862, p. 2, c. 3
TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS REWARD. – Strayed or stolen on the night of the 10th instant, a light bay bob-tail HORSE, about 7 years old. Said horse was blind in the left eye, had a small star in the forehead and a small white spot on the front part of the right hind leg, about half way between the knee and the hip; he also had one or two small saddle marks on the back; his mane is rather thin, apparently worn off next to the shoulders by wagon collar, and worn off next to his head by a halter; there is also a small scar on one of his knees, but I have forgotten which; is in good working order. I will give $25 for his delivery at Marion Hill battery.
T. P. WILKINSON, Capt. Comd'g,
Allen Artillery.
