From the Richmond Dispatch, 10/9/1862
Recaptured. – A soldier named Jas. Jennings, placed in Castle Thunder for substitution and desertion, a few days since took French leave by jumping from one of the windows on the western side of the building and running off. On Tuesday he was seen in a cigar store on Main street by Detective New, who immediately took him off to his old quarters. He made no resistance, though the officer had two other prisoners in charge at the time.
