GEN'L HOSPITAL, HOWARD'S GROVE,
September 25th, 1862

THE SURGEON IN CHARGE takes this method of thanking the following citizens of Pittsylvania and Halifax counties, for their various charitable donations to the patients under his supervision: Mrs. Jacob Thomas, for two boxes of vegetables; Capt. Steph. C. Townes, for two large boxes of vegetables and fruit; Mrs. Richard Edmonds, for two sacks of fresh potatoes; Mrs. N. Ragsdale, for one box sundries; Mrs. S. H. Edmonds, for one barrel of fruit; one ditto pepper, sage, and vegetables; Mrs. Thomas E. Barksdale, for one jar fresh butter; Mrs. L. Farmer, for two kegs onions and tomatoes; Mrs. Richard Edmonds, for $10 in cash; Mrs. Sterling H. Edmonds, for $5.

These contributions were forwarded by Dr. S. Angle, Assistant Surgeon, who is authorized to purchase supplies and solicit donation for the General Hospital at Howard's Grove.
