From the Richmond Dispatch, 7/25/1862, p. 2, c. 5

STOLEN – From the War Department, on the 23d of July, by a small boy, a large BAY HORSE, weak in his left eye. He had on a large Spanish saddle, with a large horn, covered with copper. A liberal reward will be paid for the delivery of said Horse at Major Jones's quarters, west end of Broad street, near the new Fair Grounds.
