From the Richmond Dispatch, 7/1/1862, p. 2, c. 3
The Yankee Prisoners at present in confinement here were officially informed yesterday by order of General Winder, that it was a criminal offense to attempt to circulate the bogus Confederate Treasury Notes obtained by them in Philadelphia. They were required to surrender the stuff. Twelve hundred dollars worth was obtained from the men in Libby's warehouse. Permission was accorded the Yankee officers and soldiers to buy the city papers.
