From the Richmond Dispatch, 6/2/1862, p. 2, c. 2
The members of Gaines' Battery, from Portsmouth, Va., request us to return their thanks to Mrs. R. Adams for a sumptuous breakfast presented them by that lady. They arrived in Richmond at midnight on the 28th ult., and rested on the steps of the Custom House until next morning, when the lady above mentioned gave them cause to remember her kindness.
