Taylor, F. F. Maury, Geo. Whitfield ("x" next to this name), E. Rives, Jno. Ward ("x" next to this name), J. B. Tuft, John Hills & Marion Howard ("x" next to this name).
Please communicate with me at once and indicate which of these officers you think will be most efficient. The names marked thus x are known to me as officers of experience. I desire to assign a strong man and one who will cooperate with his strength with those so long, usefully and honorably associated with you.
