From the Richmond Examiner, 2/20/1864
ARRIVAL OF A YANKEE GENERAL AND STAFF. - Major-General Scammon and staff, of Western Virginia, succeeded in their "on to Richmond," on Thursday, and are lodged and fed at Government expense at the hotel de Libby. The coming of this distinguished Yankee General is quite a pleasing offset to the loss of Colonel A. D. Streight and so many of his brother officers.
FIFTY-EIGHT of the escaped Yankee officers had been re-captured and returned to the Libby up to yesterday afternoon.
