Sir

               General Hospl No. 24 is opened for the reception of cases. I have given Surgeon Mason Special instructions in regard to what cases should be sent to it. You will consequently transfer only such North Carolinians to the Hospital as he may indicate.

I do not desire that it shall be filled for several days.
