Shows date of arrival; name, rank, and organization of patient; disease; and remarks (generally disposition of case). Entries in each volume are arranged by date of arrival. The volumes are duplicates; volume 162 bears the notation that it appears to have been copied from the original (volume 165) in 1867 for use of the Prisoner of War Division, Adjutant General's Office.
